Workout Revolution, Studio City, high intensity workouts

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I haven’t worked out in a long time or I have an injury and I’m scared to make it worse. Can you help me?
Yes! This workout was originally designed for people with severe osteoporosis (a condition in which bones become weak and brittle). Many of our clients come to us having not worked out consistently for years (or at all) and often they have injuries. We are incredibly adept at working around almost any injury or physical condition and we will adjust the starting intensity level to match your current level of fitness and build up from there. If you have more specific concerns, please reach out to us before booking your first workout so we can discuss your particular condition and share more about how your workouts will go.
  • How often can I do this workout?
Our workout was designed to be done once or twice a week. When you workout at The Workout Revolution your muscles will be given the stimulus they need to get stronger each time you are here. After your workout, it’s important to allow your muscles to rest. That rest period is different for everyone but usually it’s about 4-7 days. If you come twice a week, we schedule your workouts every 3-4 days. If you come once a week, you can see us every 5-7 days.
  • What else should I do during the week?
Eat well, laugh, relax your body and relax your mind! Walking is great. Hiking or gentle yoga can be great too if you like them. If you enjoy other physical activities and they aren’t causing you pain or joint problems, please go ahead and do them. Your slow strength training workout will be the exercise foundation for your week and no other strength training is needed. Just let us know what else you are into and we will help you plan out a schedule that supports your workouts and still gives your body the rest time it needs.
  • How long until I see results?
This varies a little bit from person to person but in general you will begin feeling a difference in your body right away (sometimes after the very first session)! Most clients feel their body changing in about 6 weeks and usually our clients start to see a difference in about 3 months of consistent once or twice a week workouts.
  • Will I be sore?
This also varies a little bit from person to person. Sometimes you may have a really intense workout and not feel sore at all and other times the workout doesn’t seem hard and yet soreness occurs. A little soreness may happen from time to time but it will never be so bad that you have trouble sitting down. If you don’t feel sore don’t worry! Soreness is not a good indicator of a “good” workout. Instead we are looking for other progress - are you feeling stronger, do you have more energy, are you lifting more weight on an exercise and are you feeling healthier overall.
  • Will I sweat?
Ideally, no. The studio is kept cool in order to give you an environment that is the most conducive to focused exercise. When you overheat, your muscles shut down and can’t work as hard. It’s actually best to perform this workout in a cool environment rather than a hot one. So, feel free to workout on your lunch break in your work clothes.
  • What should I wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in and can move in easily. Layers are a good idea since you will warm up during your workout. And sneakers are best on your feet if possible, but as long as your shoe doesn’t have a large heel, it should work.
  • What are your COVID-related protocols?
Currently, if requested, we are limiting the studio to one person working out with their instructor at one time. At most, there are two people working out with their instructors at the same time. We are cleaning the equipment between people and we have an HVAC system that filters the building air as well as an air purifier that fully cleans the studio air every 30 minutes. The studio air purifier was tested to remove 99.99% of particles related to COVID-19. Face masks are welcomed. If you would like to wear one, your instructor will as well. If you don’t want to wear one, but would like your instructor to, that’s fine also. Just let us know!
